Travel Photography

Photographs can help all of us create and tell stories about the amazing and more mundane aspects of our planet. They can trigger a wide range of emotions from joy to sadness. This website provides the opportunity to view a collection of photos from the many journeys I have made over the last four decades.

The McAdamee is based on a simple principle – giving you, the viewer, the freedom to interpret these photos for yourselves.Therefore I have deliberately not added a commentary. You can draw your own conclusions and reflect on the feelings the images create and share your reminiscences and ideas for future travel. Hopefully it will also encourage more people to realise all of us can
be travel photographers.

Exploring the Galleries

The links above will take you to over 100 photos from over 25 countries. Enjoy your journey and travel at your own pace.  The photos were taken with a variety of cameras and lenses. The quality isn’t always perfect. Neither am I claiming every photo is a masterpiece. The subjects and locations inspired me to capture the magnificent landscape and some quirky architecture. Most of all the remarkable fortitude and dignity of people coping with the challenges of climate, dodgy leaders, and poverty.

Clearly as I write we are all coming to terms with the massive consequences of the Covid 19 pandemic. All the photos here are from the “BC era” and a challenge for all travellers will be coming to terms with the ongoing impact of this. I hope the photos will support the spirit of global travel, which is hugely important to millions of workers and their families around the world.
